The LA PRIMAFIT Vertical Fridrihštajn is a short but distinctly steep climb to the ruins of Fridrihštajn Castle. It is a perfect blend of history, views, and a true vertical challenge. Designed for everyone who enjoys intense uphill efforts, it also serves as an ideal activation before Saturday’s trail races.

The start is at the MTB Center Kočevje, from where the course immediately climbs steeply toward Fridrihštajn. Over a distance of 2.6 km, you gain nearly 500 meters of elevation. The rhythm is short, demanding, and relentless all the way to the finish, which rewards you with panoramic views over Kočevje and the surrounding area.

There is no time limit for the vertical, making it suitable for hikers as well. You can take it on as a competitive challenge or enjoy it as a relaxed sunset climb.

Aid stations

The Kočevsko Outdoor Festival is committed to reducing the negative impact of the festival on the environment, so disposable cups will not be available at the refreshment station. Runners are asked to bring and use their own cup, bidon or cammel bag at the refreshment station.

There will be one (1) aid station at the finish line.

Friday’s vertical will be timed from the start in the MTB centre Kočevje to the finish in Fridrihštajn. Each runner will receive a timing, a medal at the finish and one refreshment. T-shirt and hot meal are not included in the entry fee. The announcement of the best finishers will follow at 20:30 in the MTB Centre Kočevje.

Important information

  • Copetitors have to reach the start venue (MTB cecenter Kočevje) by their own transport. The start at the MTB centre is about 4km away from the main venue at the Kočevje lake (TIC Jezero).
  • The starting numbers will be collected at the MTB Center on Friday from 17:00.
  • There will be a wardrobe transport from the start to the finish – competitors can check in their small wardrobe at a designated place no later than 15 minutes before the start.
  • There will be no transport from the finish line back to the start – runners will return to the MTB Centre on foot or with their own transport.

Other

  • The registration service will be set at the main festival venue.
  • By registering in the online application form and paying the registration fee, the competitor confirms that he agrees with the conditions and that he competes at his own risk. For entries on the venue on the day of the event, the competitor signs the application form confirming the acceptance of the conditions and the competition at his own risk.
  • For minors, the responsibility is taken over by parents or guardians who sign the application form upon registration.
  • Participants allow photographing and allow the organizer to use the photographs for the promotion of the Kočevsko Outdoor Festival.
  • Medical care will be placed along the trail.
  • The organizer reserves the right to make changes to the event program. If any changes shall be accepted the participants will be notified in time.
  • The organizer does not accept liability for any damage or injury made by the competitors to themselves, to other competitors or to a third person.
  • The organizer does not accept liability for any damage made on your running gear.
  • All runners participate at their own responsibility.
  • A designated parking space will be available for teams, competitors and spectators.
  • We do not return paid registration fees.

* Osnovna prva pomoč. Paket prve pomoči mora vsebovati najmanj 1-2 gazi, 1 elastični povoj in paket obližev.
