The Kočevsko Outdoor Festival is a festival for all outdoor enthusiasts. Young and old. That’s why we offer many other activities and trips for all generations. Many of the activities will be available at the venue at the Lake, others will be available in the surrounding area. Please also pay attention, as registration is required for guided tours/excursions. You can apply and book when you register for the run or contact us HERE. Do you want to get to know Kočevsko region?
Spend an unforgettable morning in the forest, listening to many interesting facts. You will learn how important it is to maintain a reasonable coexistence between nature and humans. The program is suitable for everyone who would like to get to know the most interesting animals of our forests and follow the signs of their presence in the environment.
Join a guided tour, where you will get to know and follow the signs of the presence of wild animals in Kočevsko.

Want to get to know the mysterious Škrilj bunker better?
The bunker was built during the Cold War 72 meters below the surface. 600m of corridors and 6 underground rooms with their own water catchment and two generators for the production of electricity would make it possible to stay in case of an atomic attack and could accommodate people up to 100 days without external help.
The Škrilj bunker has long been considered one of Slovenia’s best-kept secrets, and since 2017 it has been possible to take organized groups to see it. The forest around the village Škrilj still remains a closed military zone.

3. KOČEVJE WITH A BIKE
On Sunday, June 1, 2025, two cycling tours are available for you, on which you can visit many interesting points in Kočevje and its surroundings accompanied by a guide.
PROGRAMME 1: Educational e-bike tour through the forests of Kočevje
- Date: June 1, 2025
- Duration: 9:00 – 14:00
- Price: €15 per person (you can use your bike or rent it – e-bike rental €30)

Difficulty: medium (in the first phase)
Program:
9:00 – Gathering at MTB Trail Center Kočevje: Welcome, presentation of the route and safety instructions, preparation of e-bikes and departure to the first point.
9.15 – 10.15 – Visit to the bivouacs: Drive to the bivouacs and presentation of their importance in the region, as well as a general explanation of the region and the respective flora and fauna.
10:15 – 11:00 – Strmec primeval forest: Drive to the Strmec primeval forest and stop at one of the best-preserved Kočevski primeval forests with an explanation of its nature conservation significance.
11.00 – 11.20 – The lynx trail at Koča at Jelenov studenec: Ride to Koča at Jelenov studenec.
11:20 – 12:00 – Breakfast at Jelenov studenec
12:00 – 13:00 – Lynx Trail: Walk along the Lynx Learning Trail, an award-winning themed trail that introduces visitors to the life of the lynx and the importance of its protection.
13:00-14:00 – Descent on the Veronika trail: Exciting but safe descent on the popular trail back to the MTB Trail Center.
PROGRAMME 2: Cycling tour around Kočevje

Program:
9:00 – Gathering at MTB Trail Center Kočevje: Welcome and presentation of the route. Short instructions for safe riding with e-bikes.
9:15 – 9:50 – Tour of Črna jama: Drive to Črna jama and explanation of karst phenomena.
9:50 – 11:00 – Visit to the Rožni Studenec: Walk along the oldest forest trail in Kočevsko, explanation of its significance.
11:00 – 12:20 – Rudniško Lake: Drive to Rudniško Lake, a short break and a walk along the popular lake with an explanation about the history of the lake, flora, fauna and tourism.
12.20 – 13.00 – Return to MTB Trail Center Kočevje.
