Charcoal burning in Ko\u010devsko has a long tradition and holds an important place in the region\u2019s cultural heritage. For centuries, this practice provided a livelihood for many families, as charcoal production played a crucial role in the development of ironworks, glassmaking, and other industries that required high-quality fuel. The dense forests of Ko\u010devsko, rich in high-quality wood, made the area ideal for charcoal production.<\/span><\/p>\n

At this year\u2019s <\/span>Ko\u010devsko Outdoor Festival 2025<\/b>, charcoal will be a central theme throughout the event. From Friday to Sunday, visitors will have the opportunity to explore this ancient craft through sports, gastronomy, and tradition.<\/span><\/p>

On Friday<\/b>, the winner of the vertical race to Fridrih\u0161tajn will symbolically light the charcoal mound, which will be set up just below the finish line of the Friday vertical <\/b>\u2013 beneath Fridrih\u0161tajn Castle. You’re warmly invited to hike up to the scenic Fridrih\u0161tajn viewpoint, where you can watch the finish of the vertical race and the lighting of the charcoal mound<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n
