It covers approximately <\/span><b>51 hectares<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and is part of a larger protected forest area. This extraordinary <\/span><b>ecosystem<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> consists of ancient <\/span><b>beech and fir trees<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, some of which are over <\/span><b>500 years old<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The forest is <\/span><b>uninhabited and untouched by human activity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, allowing natural tree growth and decay.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All runners taking on the <\/span><b>30 km or 60 km distance<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will pass along the <\/span><b>edges of this magnificent part of Ko\u010devski Rog<\/b><span The most famous peaks include <\/span><b>Veliki Rog, Lovski vrh, and Fridrih\u0161tajn Castle<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which is part of <\/span><b>Friday\u2019s vertical run<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Veliki Rog<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the <\/span><b>highest peak<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of <\/span><b>Ko\u010devski Rog<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, reaching <\/span><b>1,099 meters<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Located in the heart of the forest, it is a popular spot for hikers and nature lovers. At the summit, there is also a <\/span><b>lookout tower<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, so if you\u2019re not in too much of a hurry to reach the finish line, take a moment to enjoy the spectacular view.<\/span><p>\u00a0<\/p><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Lovski vrh<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is a <\/span><b>scenic hill<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> near <\/span><b>Ko\u010devje<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, reaching just over <\/span><b>900 meters<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It is part of the <\/span><b>Ko\u010devski Rog forest<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and offers stunning views of <\/span><b>Ko\u010devska Valley and the surrounding forests<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The area is rich in wildlife, including <\/span><b>bears, deer, and other wild animals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><p>\u00a0<\/p><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Fridrih\u0161tajn Castle<\/b> is now <b>a picturesque ruin<\/b> above <b>Ko\u010devje<\/b>, sitting at <b>970 meters<\/b> above sea level. It was built in the <b>15th century<\/b> by <b>Friderik II of Celje<\/b> for his beloved <b>Veronika Deseni\u0161ka<\/b>. The castle was soon <b>destroyed<\/b>, leaving only the remains of its walls.
